A collaborative rebrand brought to life through a modern, performance-focused website

Project Overview

McHale Design approached this project in the middle of a broader rebrand—one focused on refining their identity, elevating their presentation, and better reflecting the caliber of their work.

Rather than treating the website as a standalone update, we approached it as an extension of that rebrand. Through close collaboration with their internal design team, we translated their evolving visual direction into a fully realized digital experience.

The result: a complete rebuild of the website—lighter, faster, and more aligned with the brand’s creative voice.

The Challenge

The existing website no longer matched the direction McHale Design was heading:

  • Built on legacy tools that limited flexibility
  • Heavier page structures impacting performance
  • Design inconsistencies following the rebrand evolution
  • Difficulty maintaining and updating content efficiently

More importantly, the site wasn’t doing justice to the quality of their work.

Our Approach

1. Aligning with the Rebrand

We worked closely with the McHale Design team to understand the intent behind the rebrand—not just visually, but strategically.

This ensured the website didn’t just “look updated,” but felt like a natural extension of their new identity.

2. Simplifying the Foundation

We removed unnecessary complexity by moving away from heavy themes and legacy page builders.

  • Clean, streamlined architecture
  • Lean front-end structure
  • Reduced reliance on bloated plugins

This gave us full control over performance and design fidelity.

3. Designing for Visual Hierarchy

The new design embraces clarity and restraint:

  • Strong typographic hierarchy
  • Strategic use of whitespace
  • Image-forward layouts that let the work speak

Instead of competing elements, the design guides users through the content intentionally.

4. Building for Performance

A lighter build meant faster load times and a smoother experience across devices.

  • Optimized assets
  • Reduced DOM complexity
  • Improved responsiveness

The site now feels as polished in performance as it does in design.

The Outcome

The redesigned McHale Design website now:

  • Reflects the brand’s updated identity with clarity and confidence
  • Highlights portfolio work in a clean, distraction-free environment
  • Loads faster and performs more reliably across devices
  • Provides a scalable foundation for future content and growth

Most importantly, it positions McHale Design the way they should be seen—modern, intentional, and design-forward.

Key Takeaway

A website redesign isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about alignment.

By syncing the website with McHale Design’s rebrand and rebuilding it on a cleaner foundation, we created a platform that not only looks better, but works better—for both the team and their audience.
