We are proud to have build a tribute website for Naomi Long Madgett (1923 – 2020), Poet Laureate of the city of Detroit since 2001, winner of the 2012 Kresge Eminent Artist Award, author of 11 books and 2 anthologies, and founder of Lotus Press.
This beautiful website was built from a theme and template, with some modifications and customizations in order to best highlight Mrs. Madgett’s long and impactful life and as well as her poetry.
Collaborating with the family of Mrs. Madgett was crucial to ensure that we were achieving the tone and proper direction for the website while communicating important information for visitors to find her work and reach out to the family for information.
Web design for authors, poets, and creatives can be different from those of businesses, but many of the principles are similar. We are proud to have been a part of honoring Mrs. Madgett’s memory and enshrining her work so that it can be enjoyed online for years to come.
